Math, science and technology instruction for students by passionate and enthusiastic teachers.

The most critical aspect towards a path of higher education is a well-structured classroom atmosphere.  The classroom environment allows bonds to develop between student and teacher and student to student. Potential vision elements for class work include:

  • Classroom Globe Math and science curriculum emphasized at all grade levels.  Advanced placement classes available as early as sixth (6th) grade and continue through high school. College accredited math and science classes will also be available at Jefferson CHAMPS.  Class room design is of the highest technological advancements complemented by outdoor laboratories at nearby Woodlawn Lake Park, Alazan and Martinez Creeks.  Pre-engineering courses and internships coordinated and taught by “real life” practitioners.
  • To have the best fine arts programs does not require a label of “magnet” school.  A top notcClasroom 1h arts curriculum must be expected at each of the neighborhood schools.  Visual, media technology and performing art curriculum consistent at each of the schools within the Jefferson cluster of schools.  Zip code 78201 contains the highest density of artist within the San Antonio area.  A direct collaboration and partnership between the neighborhood art community and the neighborhood schools will be achieved.  The Jefferson cluster of schools will have the best art strands in theatre (thespians), fashion and costume, cinema, production, poetry (Each Has Spoken), speech and debate, vocal, marching band, and orchestra, guitar, mariachis, dance and Lassos.

  • Technology classrooms of the future will be designed using best practice environments from across the world.  Classroom redesigns will be appropriate and specific to grade and subject area.

  • Class room mentors in math, science, grammar and art strands will be recruited, trained and coordinated throughout the Jefferson cluster of schools.

  • Attendance will be mandatory and roll call taken for each class period throughout the day.  Classroom PeprallyTruancy and skipping classes will not be tolerated.  Attendance staff at each Jefferson cluster school will be active in reaching out to chronic absenteeism.

  • High expectation rallies for teachers and students will be organized on a regular basis with updates on the 2020 CHAMPS Declaration.
