Mandatory participation in extracurricular organization or "Jefferson Corp of Cadets" to learn discipline and sportsmanship skills.
Students are motivated differently. For many, being part of a team or organization can go a long way to make learning more enjoyable and meaningful. As part of the team work philosophy, organized team activity will be made available from the early school years all the way until high s chool graduation. Some of these activities may include: Performing art related organizations within each elementary school such as choir. Student council organizations at each of the schools. Partnership with local church athletic programs for volunteer participation. Jefferson CHAMPS youth soccer organization for all of the elementary school students (boys and girls). Revitalization of Jefferson high school social clubs such as Haynes, MJR’s, Senate and Shakespeare organizations. Mandatory participation for all entering freshman at Jefferson CHAMPS for at least one athletic, arts, or Corp of Cadets organization. Celebrate and grow “icon” organizations throughout cluster schools. For example, the Lassos organization can have “junior” squads at elementary and middle school grades at all cluster schools.
