Jefferson Area schools will become the most desirable and considered "best" in San Antonio.
Jefferson schools will be the best schools in America by 2020; however, bold, urgent improvements begin now. With each passing year our neighborhood schools will evolve to the best in the community, to the best in the district, to the best in the city and county, to finally the best in the nation. A summary of sample benchmarks include: 2010Extra-curricular activity participation benchmarks established for measured gains (i.e. vocal, speech team, athletics, marching band, and Jeff Corp of Cadets) Lassos at 100 members strong.
2015Advance placement courses in math and science available in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. College and military uniforms worn by all Jefferson CHAMPS students. 500 Jefferson CHAMPS scholarships awarded to low-income students. Socio-economic and ethnic-cultural diversity in Jefferson CHAMPS demographics. $7 million dollars raised by Jefferson CHAMPS foundation for college scholarships, military advancements, academic programs, technology and campus grounds improvements/ maintenance. Jefferson Junior Corp of Cadets and Junior Lassos begun in cluster schools. Jefferson CHAMPS Corp of Cadets 1,000 strong and Lassos at 150 members. Jefferson CHAMPS extra-curricular (non-cadet) participation at 1,200 students. Ninety (90) percent of Jefferson area students attending neighborhood schools. Ninety (90) percent of Jefferson CHAMPS enroll in college or military service.
2020Jefferson neighborhood schools recognized as best schools in the nation. A national model of urban revitalization and urban regeneration of schools of students of diverse socio- economic and ethnic-cultural backgrounds. One hundred (100) percent of Jefferson CHAMPS enroll in college or military service.
