COLLEGE HIGH AND MILITARY PREP SCHOOL (CHAMPS)

Jefferson High School’s history as a college prep and military academy for officer training become natural strands in a rejuvenated long term vision. Within these vision strands of academic excellence and character expectations develops the articles incorporated within a Declaration of Excellence agreement.

The Declaration of Excellence partnership agreement becomes tailored to each of the Pre-K through eighth grade academies and adopted by all stakeholders at each of the feeder schools.

The Declaration of Excellence is a long term partnership agreement between students, parents, teachers, staff, administration, school district officials, neighborhood residents and the business community on a shared 2020 vision for the greater Jefferson neighborhood and schools. The vision is based on a philosophy that best neighborhoods make best schools and vice versa.

Neighborhood values are based on sustainability, urban design, quality of life, art and cultural amenities, quality living, health, recreation, gathering places, celebration events and generational exchange and ownership. Campus pillars support neighborhood values through class work, home work, team work, civic work, and measurable success.
